Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill withdrew from Dancing with the Stars today because of an injury, saving another contestant from elimination in the celebrity dance competition.

Boxer Victor Ortiz and partner Lindsay Arnold and reality star Lisa Vanderpump and partner Gleb Savchenko were in danger of elimination before Hamill’s announcement. The two pairs entered Tuesday with the lowest overall scores, a two-week combination of judges’ scores and viewer votes.

An ankle injury and a cyst on her lumbar spine limited rehearsal time for Hamill and partner Tristan MacManus. Hamill said today that she took the advice of a doctor, who suggested she withdraw from the competition.

Comedian D.L. Hughley and professional partner Cheryl Burke had the lowest judges’ scores in Week 1 and the second-lowest scores in Week 2, but viewers rallied to keep the pair dancing. Other celebrities remaining in the competition are Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, country singers Wynonna Judd and Kellie Pickler, comedian Andy Dick, actors Ingo Rademacher and Zendaya, The Bachelor Sean Lowe, and NFL wide receiver Jacoby Jones.
