UT investigating ways to treat aggressive brain cancer
Glioblastoma multiforme is the most common and deadliest form of brain cancer in adults. The National Cancer Institute estimates that about 23,000 adults are diagnosed with glioblastoma each year in the United States. Treatment consists of surgical removal of the tumor mass, followed by radiation and chemotherapy to kill any remaining tumor cells that have invaded the brain beyond the surgically removed tumor mass.
