Outside Berkey, retired mechanic works the land
Healing the environment, the wonder of propagation, delicious food, and the beauty of well-designed floral beds and arboreal scapes are just some of the reasons that Jeff and Karen Harrison put spade to land. About the environment: The Harrisons live on five acres surrounded by cornfields in northwestern Lucas County, outside Berkey. The soil is Hoytville clay, so dense that water rolls off of it quicker than it soaks in.
