Alleged Alec Baldwin stalker found in contempt

NEW YORK — A Canadian woman on trial for allegedly stalking Alec Baldwin has been ordered to jail for 30 days over a series of courtroom outbursts.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Robert Mandelbaum issued the punishment today to Genevieve Sabourin after finding her in contempt of court. She replied, “I didn’t do anything!”

The judge had warned Sabourin repeatedly about speaking out during her trial. She continued to interrupt afterward, saying she didn’t trust her lawyer.

Sabourin also began testifying today.

Baldwin and prosecutors say she conducted a campaign of harassment that escalated from phone calls and emails to showing up at his homes.

She says Baldwin was “flirtatious” when they met and a sexual relationship ensued. Baldwin denies that, calling her actions “like something out of Hitchcock.”
