The Toledo Zoo has a new rescued grey seal to show off.

The zoo says the seal was caught off the East Coast, but sent to the zoo because it couldn’t be put back in the wild.

A zoo spokesman says the male seal had become too acquainted with humans and was taking fish off fishing lines. The spokesman says that could have put the seal at risk as he got older in the wild.

Grey seals in the wild live in the North Atlantic Ocean

The seal now in the zoo’s arctic exhibit is estimated to be two years old. It initially was taken to a center where animals are rehabilitated and later released.

Zoo officials say the seal is becoming curious about people and his surroundings.
