IceDiggers fall in tournament

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Greater Toledo Area Hockey Association's 14-and-under Toledo IceDiggers team lost in the national semifinal 2-1 to Phoenix.

Toledo, coached by Tom Lopez, recorded wins over Medford (Mass.) and Hudson Valley (N.Y.) in the tournament.

Forwards Doug Clifford (6 goals, 2 assists) and Brandon Snead (4 goals, 4 assists) were among the tournament's leading scorers.

Goaltender Lucas Fournier (2.79 goals-against average) recorded both wins.
