Black History Month show to open at 20 North

The 10th annual Black History Month exhibition is opening in 20 North Gallery, 20 North St. Clair St. The work of area African-American artists will be on display tomorrow through Feb. 28. The exhibit is dedicated to the late sculptor LeMaxie Glover and the late Marvin Vines, longtime teachers, artists, and leaders in Toledo s black community.

Painting, sculpture, paper collage, and photography works will be on view from Aaron Bivins, R.E. Braziel, Wil Clay, Glover, Wade Harrison, Pamela Jean Patterson, Ramon R. Tiggs, Thomas Vines, Marvin Vines, and Cleveland artist Beverly Ramsey-Levert. An opening reception is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow, and a poetry reading is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 20. The Fine Arts Association of Delta, Ohio, is featuring the oil and pastel portraits and still life work of Wauseon artist Donna Barhite as its featured artist of the month at Dee s Art & Angles, 327 Main St., Delta. Brewed Awakenings: A Coffee House, 2636 Central Ave., presents an exhibition of the work of Nate Masternak, co-owner of Artivism. Masternak is known for his imaginative use of materials art such as CDs, wooden boards, and microphones. His artwork is on view through the end of February. Pemberville Opera House, 115 Main St., Pemberville, Ohio, is seeking entries for For The Love of Art, a show featuring the works of area high school students and recent graduates. Artist Emanuel Enriquez will serve as judge for the show and as featured artist.
