• Mood and Mode: The Art of Jim Brower continues through Aug. 31 at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library's Main Library, 325 North Michigan St. With 53 watercolor, pen and ink, and commercial-art illustrations, the exhibit is in the library's second-level gallery.
Brower, who also illustrated books, began working in the field in 1932 and in Toledo in 1943. He has served as president of the Northwestern Ohio Watercolor Society, the Toledo Federation of Art Societies, and on the board of the Ohio Watercolor Society. In 2003, he published Mood and Mode, an illustrated account of his life in art.
• Leonard Marty will demonstrate his glass-making craft at the Glass Pavilion of the Toledo Museum of Art from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 13.
• Ceramic mugs and cups by Julie Shine Webster will be on view and for sale from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Ottawa Tavern, 1817 Adams St. She'll be joined by Meg Piotrowski selling aromatherapy products.
Art After Hours, featuring artists, music, food, and wine, will be from 5 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the Jodie McCallum Fine Art Gallery in Marblehead. The shop hosts events on the first Friday of each month at 724 West Main St. Information: 419-798-3318.

A closing reception with the artists, a classic car show, and live music by Sound Advice will be noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 14 at Flatlanders Art Galleries.
