Watercolor, other classes scheduled in Whitehouse

Local artist Harry Daugherty will hold beginning watercolor classes as part of the Whitehouse Arts Advisory Board’s monthly art series, starting next month.

Two-hour classes will be Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. over six weeks from Feb. 27 through April 3 at the village hall. The cost is $15 a class.

Registration forms are available at the village hall, 6925 Providence St. or at whitehouseoh.gov. Registration is required as is a $45 payment for the first three classes. A list of supplies can be obtained from the Web site or by calling 419-877-5383.

Various free classes have been set in the village hall.

On Feb. 24 at 6 p.m., Jan Hunter from Naturally Native Nursery will discuss rain gardens and how to use them in a landscape. On March 17 at 6 p.m., Nancy Robinson from The Andersons will talk about new plants, garden edibles, and recipes for garden cocktails. On April 21 at 6 p.m., Vicki Gallagher, horticulturist from the 577 Foundation in Perrysburg, will talk about vegetable and community gardening. On May 19 at 6:30 p.m., Louann Artiaga will cover genealogy and the use of public records, and talk about how to overcome roadblocks.
