Perrysburg Winterfest begins at 5 p.m. Friday and runs through Sunday afternoon, with events in downtown Perrysburg and at Levis Commons. More than 15,000 people are expected to attend.

The festival, organized by Downtown Perrysburg Inc. and Levis Commons, is a National Ice Carving Association sanctioned event. In addition to ice carvings, there will be music, food, craft beer, wine, horse-drawn carriage rides, and family activities.

The event will host the 2017 U.S. National Ice Carving Championship. Twenty first-class master and professional ice carvers will compete for $15,000 of prize money and the national title. The first round of the championships is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Levis Commons. The second round is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Perrysburg, which also will be the location for the championship award ceremony at 4 p.m. Information at perrysburgwinterfest.org.
