Approximately 190 employees on indefinite layoff from General Motors Corp. s Toledo Powertrain plant are to return to work Monday to cover the jobs of co-workers who are undergoing additional training.

The plant, which began manufacturing fuel-efficient six-speed transmissions for rear-wheel-drive vehicles this year, is conducting various types of training, spokesman Wanda Wellman said. She said she could not say how long those called back would remain on the job. The plant currently has about 1,450 hourly and salaried employees.
