Open house at GM Powertrain

8/13/2011

A tour group observes a torque-converter housing line in General Motors Co.’s Toledo Powertrain plant during a community open house Friday. The event, which was open to the public, included plant tours, new-vehicle displays, and test drives of the Chevy Volt electric car. The Toledo facility also donated $25,000 to seven local charities on behalf of the GM Foundation during the event. The open house was one of more than 50 planned by GM this year at its facilities nationwide. GM is hosting another open house today at Powertrain for its employees, retirees, and their families.
