EDON, Ohio -- An automotive-parts manufacturer in Edon is expected to lay off more than 70 people because its largest customer did not renew a contract that soon will expire.

Diversified Machine Inc. notified the state Feb. 24 that it already had laid off eight employees from its Edon plant and anticipated 65 more layoffs starting April 27. The company said it had not received a new line to replace a contract with Ford Motor Co. that is to end next month.

Edon is about 75 miles west of Toledo.
