NWOAL: Wauseon, Montpelier cruise to victories


Wauseon 31, Fairview 7

WAUSEON — Wauseon quarterback Zac Robinson threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another Friday night as the Indians cruised.

Robinson was 12 of 13 passing for 176 yards, and added 123 yards rushing on 10 carries including a 65-yard TD run.

Robinson hit Jacob Newlove on a 67-yard score and found Zach Johnson on a fvie-yard touchdown pass. Jacob Flory rushed for 43 yards and a 20-yard TD and Josh Whitcomb kicked a 23-yard field goal.

Wyatt Puffinberger threw an 18-yard TD pass to Austin Meyer for Fairview’s only score.

Montpelier 40, Hilltop 0

MONTPELIER — The Locomotives churned out 458 yards on 38 carries, outgained Hilltop 529-120 and completed the home shutout.

Dallas Royer scored on a 79-yard run and finished with 17 attempts for 169 yards for the Locomotives. Jordan Birdsall added 15 carries for 163 yards and two TDs, both from one yard out.

Dylan Snyder (85 yards) and Austin Grubb (38 yards) also scored on the ground.

Snyder factored into the other Montpelier score, connecting with Nate McCord on a 49-yard TD pass. He completed 3 of 10 passes for 71 yards and an interception.

Tinora 49, Liberty Center 8

LIBERTY CENTER — Brevin Renollet threw three touchdown passes to Hunter Vogel as the Rams cruised.

Renollet hit Vogel on scores of 27, 34 and 23 yards.

Tyler Risner returned a punt 90 yards for a TD for Tinora, and Riley Nagel, T.J. Gares, and Ian Santos added rushing touchdowns.

Zack Carpenter ran for a 60-yard touchdown to account for Liberty Center’s only scoring.
