Notre Dame overtakes Bowling Green

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Bowling Green took a 2-1 lead midway through the second period before Notre Dame scored four straight goals in a 5-2 victory yesterday.

Mike Falk struck first for the Falcons, scoring his third goal on a power play goal at the 9:34 mark of the first period. Brian Escobedo and Brett Pilkington were credited with assists on the play.

D'Arcy McConvey tallied an even-strength, unassisted goal, his fourth of the season, at 12:23 of the second period.

Notre Dame scored twice in the second period on goals by Evan Nielsen and Michael Chin.

John Wroblewski found the net twice in the third period.

The Falcons fell to 3-10-1 overall and 1-9-1 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, while Notre Dame improved to 7-6-2 and 6-6-0.

Irish netminder Morgan Coy was credited with 27 saves, with Tyler Masters stopped 40 shots.

Bowling Green will not play again until after Christmas in the Dodge Holiday Classic Dec. 27-28 in Minneapolis. BG will meet Boston College in the first round.
