BGSU skates past Western Michigan

BOWLING GREEN - Bowling Green swept the two-game season series with Western Michigan, beating the Broncos 5-2 last night in front of 4,309 fans, the second-largest crowd of the season.

BG's James Unger scored the first and last goals of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association game. In between were goals by Brett Pilkington, Jonathan Matsumoto and Ben Geelan.

Jeff Pierce and Brent Walton got the Bronco goals.

Jordan Sigalet made 24 saves for BG. Eric Marvin had 23 for Western.

BG has four regular season games left, including a home-and-home series with Michigan State, beginning here at 7 Friday night and at East Lansing at 7 Saturday.

BG is 15-11-4 overall, 12-9-3 CCHA.

Western is 11-17-2, 6-16-2.
