If you're a superstitious Bowling Green supporter, then perhaps read no further.

Otherwise, it is clear success or failure for the Falcons the rest of the season will hinge upon No. 13.

More specifically, senior quarterback Tyler Sheehan, who wears No. 13.

It is simple to see that after six weeks of competition the Falcons are not going to begin playing shutdown defense anytime soon. They're a flawed defensive unit that routinely suffers a breakdown or two every game.

It is also evident Bowling Green is not going to start playing smash-mouth football in upcoming weeks. Such personnel doesn't exist on this year's roster.

The only answer is lean on the most experienced asset.

And that's No. 13.

Sheehan, a three-year starter, must carry the load. His resume reveals he's been there, done that. He's thrown for 8,026 career yards (second-best in team history) and is a past Mid-American Conference second-team honoree.

Sheehan's single-game career passing effort of 505 yards in the win at Kent State should represent how the Falcons intend to finish off the rest of the year. Let him fling the football around as often as he wishes. Not only is it the Falcons' best option to put themselves in position to win games, it makes for an entertaining brand of football.
