Falcons fall to Chippewas

BOWLING GREEN — Central Michigan University continued its dominance over the Mid-American Conference East Division by defeating Bowling Green State University 24-10 yesterday afternoon at Doyt Perry Stadium.

The Falcons (3-5, 2-2 MAC) hampered their chances of defeating the favored Chippewas (7-1, 5-0 MAC) by committing two turnovers in the red zone.

Dan LeFevour accounted for 275 total yards to lead the Chippewas to their seventh straight win of the season. CMU's versatile quarterback rushed for 128 yards on 22 carries and passed for 147 yards while completing 16 of 22 passes, including two touchdowns.

BG's Tyler Sheehan completed 35 of 55 passes for 341 yards, including a touchdown and an interception.

Freddie Barnes, the nation's leading receiver, caught 14 passes for 172 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown reception. He has 99 catches for the season.
