Bowling Green State University junior Lauren Prochaska was named Mid-American Conference player of the year for the second straight year Tuesday.

Prochaska leads the Falcons, who are the No. 1 seed in this week's MAC tournament in Cleveland, in both scoring and rebounding with 17.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

"The entire BGSU program is excited about Lauren being named the MAC Player of the Year," BG coach Curt Miller said. "She has been our leader at both ends of the floor, and continues to compile impressive statistics despite being the center of attention for all of our opponents. Lauren is the most unselfish superstar that I have worked with during my 20 years of collegiate coaching."

Joining Prochaska on the All-MAC first team were University of Toledo senior Tanika Mays, Eastern Michigan's Tavelyn James, Buffalo's Kourtney Brown, and Kent State's Jamilah Humes. Mays leads the Rockets in scoring with 15.1 ppg. and 7.4 rpg.

Also taking home all-conference honors were BGSU's Tracy Pontius (second team), and UT's Naama Shafir (second team) and Melissa Goodall (honorable mention).
