BOWLING GREEN -- Jesse Fleming has joined the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach, head coach Jennifer Roos has announced today.
Fleming comes to BGSU after spending the 2011-12 season at Stony Brook University. Prior to his stint with the Seawolves, he spent six years at Saint Bonaventure University, and was an associate head coach during his final season (2010-11).
“Jesse has an impeccable reputation among his coaching peers as a relentless recruiter and a fantastic teacher of the game,” Roos said. “His experiences of helping build the St. Bonaventure program into a NCAA Sweet 16 participant and beginning to the lay the foundation for the program at Stony Brook have more than prepared him for this opportunity at BGSU.
Roos said that two other members of last year's team will not return to the program. Noelle Yoder will transfer to Ashland, while Logan Postor will transfer to Malone.Yoder played in 27 games her sophomore year at BG, and she averaged 3.3 points per game, while Pastor played in all but two of the Falcons' 31 contests and averaged 1.8 points and 1.0 assists per contest.
"Blessing may not be the right word, but I gave them my blessing," Roos said of the two transfers. "We have been in contact since they left, and they left on a good note."
Three players have transferred out of the BG program since the season end, with Kaila Hulls transferring to Indiana to join former coach Curt Miller with the Hoosiers.
