BOWLING GREEN -- Police arrested a Bowling Green State University student today for allegedly sexually assaulting another student.

Bowling Green police said they arrested William D. Jackson, 20, who lives at McDonald East residence hall, on one count of rape, following a reported sexual assault of a BGSU student Sunday morning.

Police said officers were called to the yard of a residence at 802 E. Wooster St., where people at the residence pointed to Mr. Jackson and an unconscious woman.

Police said an investigation found that Mr. Jackson did not know the victim, and she was too intoxicated to give consent.

“He apparently was walking down the sidewalk and saw her. She was highly intoxicated, and he kind of led her there,” said Deputy Chief Tony Hetrick.

The victim was taken to Wood County Hospital where she was treated and released. Mr. Jackson was taken today to the Wood County Justice Center.
