Also, the league’s coaches voted BG forward Ryan Carpenter to the preseason All-WCHA team.

On Tuesday a WCHA media poll also pegged the Falcons for fourth and placed Carpenter on the league’s preseason team.

Minnesota State received all but one available first-place vote and a perfect 81 points in a coaches ballot in which first place was worth nine points, second was eighth, and so on. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

Ferris State was second with 65 points, followed by Michigan Tech – which received the other first-place vote, BG, Alaska, Northern Michigan (40 points), Bemidji State (35), Lake Superior (25), Alaska Anchorage (18) and Alabama Huntsville (10).
