CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference’s pre-season women’s basketball poll has the Bowling Green State University squad picked to finish second in the East Division, while the University of Toledo was picked third in the West Division.
The poll, which included votes from all 12 MAC coaches, saw Akron receive nine of 12 votes to win the East while Central Michigan received all 12 first-place votes.
Behind Akron and Bowling Green in the East Division were Buffalo, Miami, Ohio and Kent State in that order. The order behind CMU in the West Division saw Ball State ahead of the Rockets and Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois behind UT.
Central Michigan received nine votes to win the MAC Tournament, while Akron, Bowling Green and Miami each received one vote.
The pre-season All-MAC team included Bowling Green senior Alexis Rogers on the East Division team, and there were two Toledo players, senior Andola Dortch and junior Inma Zanoguera, on the West Division squad.
The rest of the East Division team includes Hanna Luburgh and Rachel Tecca of Akron, Mackenzie Loesing of Buffalo and Hannah Robertson of Miami.
The rest of the West Division team includes Nathalie Fontaine of Ball State and Central Michigan teammates Crystal Bradford and Jessica Green.
