BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team signed four players to national letters of intent, including two area players.

Perrysburg’s Sarah Baer and Liberty-Benton’s Rachel Myers will join the Falcons starting next season, as will Lauren Webb of Vernon Hills, Ill., and Haley Puk of Waterloo, Iowa.

The 6-foot-1 Baer was an All-Ohio second-team selection in Division I as a junior after leading the Yellow Jackets to a 23-2 overall record and a Northern Lakes League title.

Baer averaged 13.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and two blocked shots per game last season after averaging 8.7 points and nine boards per game as a sophomore.

"Simply stated, Sarah is a fantastic athlete, and she is a winner," BG coach Jennifer Roos said in a statement.

Myers is a 5-7 guard who averaged 15.7 points per game last season, leading the Eagles to a 20-6 record to earn All-Ohio second-team honors in Division III. As a sophomore, Myers averaged 13.8 points per game as the Eagles went 23-3 and advanced to the state semifinals.

"We are very fortunate to keep Rachel close to home," Roos said. "She has proven to be a tremendous scorer throughout her high school career.”

Puk, a 6-0 guard, led Waterloo West with 15.3 points last season to earn Class 5A all-state third team.

Webb, a 6-1 forward, helped Vernon Hills to the Class 3A state final in each of last two seasons. She averaged 13 points and 5.6 rebounds last year.
