WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team wasn’t able to overcome a poor shooting game and suffered a 57-48 loss to No. 18 Purdue on Sunday.

Jillian Halfhill posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Falcons (9-2), while Alexis Rogers added 16 points.

Bowling Green made just 17-of-65 shots in the game (28.1 percent), including just 2-of-19 3-pointers (10.5 percent). Halfhill was 5-for-17 from the field, while Erica Donovan was 1-for-14 on field-goals, including misses on all six of her 3-point attempts.

April Wilson scored 18 points to lead Purdue (9-2), while KK Houser had 13 points and nine rebounds. Liza Clemons and Courtney Moses each added 10 points for the Boilermakers.

Purdue scored the game’s first six points, but that was the biggest lead for either team in the first half. There were four lead changes in that period along with three ties, the last coming when BG’s Rogers made a pair of free throws with 36 seconds left to make the halftime score 23-23.

The Boilermakers got off to another quick start in the second half, scoring the first five points of the period and building a 40-29 lead with 8:12 to play.

The Falcons whittled that advantage to 48-46 with 1:30 on the clock, but Wilson’s three-point play at 1:15 and 4-for-4 free-throw shooting by Purdue in the final 24 seconds sealed the win.
