Two NFL moms were featured recently at the Sweet Endings event at Westgate Chapel to benefit the Pregnancy Center of Toledo.

Pam Tebow is the mother of Heisman Trophy winner and Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, and Toledoan Lisha Washington is the mother of Nate Washington, who plays for the Tennessee Titans.

After the women's inspiring talks, NFL jerseys from their sons were auctioned off by emcee Jerry Anderson of WTOL-TV, Channel 11.

Adding a creative message about the cause was Stacey DelVerne, who, with music and art, transformed a painting of a baby into a picture of a mother and child in just 10 minutes.

The event raised about $50,000, according to Janet Bosserman, executive director of the organization. The proceeds provide support and education in pregnancy-related issues to some 1,200 women.

Kudos go to the more 650 ticketholders, the sponsors, and event chairman Eugenia Boyer, assisted by a vast committee.

Among the crowd were Virgil Crots, Gwenyth Mickus, Larry, Nina, and Angela Sanders, Phil Ruyle, Barbie Andrews, Kitty Coombs, Carrie Brumbaugh, Jean and Al McGreevy, Gary Okorowski, Ruth Ann Franks, Michelle McCauley, Mark and Jennifer Christiaanse, Marsha and Keith McHugh, and Lee Stedke.
