  • DOING for others is what volunteerism is all about, yet it is nice to be recognized for one's efforts. Camp Miakonda DeVilbiss Scout Reservation in Sylvania was the setting for the 88th Scouter Recognition Dinner presented June 5 by the Erie Shores Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

THE Ovarian Cancer Connection hosted its annual Ovarian Cancer Survivor Luncheon this spring at Premier Catering & Banquet Hall. I was one of the guests, a thankful survivor.

Not much is said about ovarian cancer, and very rarely do we see symptoms listed to catch it early or healthy tips to possibly prevent the cancer. We hope to change that by getting the word out: get your annual checkups, pay attention to your body, and notice abnormal signs — it may save your life.
