Reading contest for children
Children in kindergarten through the third grade will have the opportunity to write and illustrate their own story books as part of the 14th Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest sponsored by WGTE-TV and radio in northwest Ohio.
The contest is based upon the literacy-oriented PBS Kids series Reading Rainbow, hosted by LeVar Burton. Reading Rainbow airs on WGTE-TV, Channel 30, Sundays at 7 a.m.
Entry materials and contest rules are available through WGTE's Educational Resource Center at 419-380-4632 or toll free at 1-888-477-4ERC. Entry forms and contest rules are also available online at www.wgte.org/rainbow. WGTE will accept entries through March 10. First, second and third place winners from each grade level will be announced in April.
