The Innocents, by Francesca Segal

Thoughts on the book:

This book was rather based on Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence. I liked the book because it poses the question for discussion, "Are you better off to stay with what you have and know or do you cast out for the great unknown?" The book is about a young couple, Rachel and Adam, who are about to marry when a free-spirited cousin returns to the city and causes an upheaval in Adam's life, prompting him to question his way of thinking and what he is willing to risk for an unfamiliar exploration. The book was thought provoking because we all face decisions that after they are made we ask, "what if?" The book compels us to evaluate what makes us happy.
