ADA, O. - Jamal Robertson rushed for 307 yards and scored seven touchdowns - including a 74-yard kickoff return - as Ohio Northern beat Marietta 68-27 yesterday.

Robertson carried 26 times to set school marks for net yards, all-purpose yards (401), single-season rushing (1,664) and touchdowns in a game.

His scoring runs covered 60, 3, 17, 15, 65 and 49 yards. Robertson, a 5-10, 205 pound senior from Dayton, also had two catches for 20 yards.

Ohio Northern (8-2, 8-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) kept alive its hopes for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Marietta's Kenneth Sasu had 229 rushing yards on 34 carries.

BLUFFTON 31, DEFIANCE 30

DEFIANCE, O. - Bluffton beat Defiance to earn a share of the Heartland Conference title when Nick Zuchegno's extra-point kick with 33 seconds remaining was wide left.

Bluffton (7-3, 5-1) built a 31-17 lead on Brandon Cupples's 24-yard field goal with 11:50 left. But Defiance (7-3, 4-2) came back on a pair of Dustin Winkler touchdown catches.

Defiance could have clinched a share of the Heartland title with a win. Bluffton ended up tied with Hanover, which advances to the NCAA Division III playoffs by virtue of its head-to-head win with the Beavers.

Tyson Goings carried 27 times for 139 yards and scored three touchdowns for Bluffton on runs of 5, 2 and 8 yards. Brad Moore completed 12 of 20 passes for 208 yards without an interception and hit Jovan Johnson on a 24-yard TD pass.

Maurice Hooker, who finished with 156 yards on 34 carries, gave Defiance a 14-0 lead on runs of 16 and 5 yards.

MOUNT UNION 60, HEIDELBERG 7

ALLIANCE, O. - Gary Smeck threw five touchdown passes as Mount Union captured its ninth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference title.

Smeck played just the first half, going 18-of-21 for 281 yards for the Purple Raiders (10-0, 9-0).

Adam Marino had seven catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns and set a school record with 77 catches during the regular season.

Brian Frank threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to James Denegall in the first quarter for the only score for Heidelberg (0-10, 0-9).

The Purple Raiders have won 64 consecutive regular season games and 58 consecutive conference games.

MICHIGAN TECH 34, FINDLAY 0

HOUGHTON, Mich. - Andy Storm got in on 11 tackles, recovered one of three Findlay fumbles and posted one of four Michigan Tech sacks as the Huskies finished their season with a victory.

Bryan Hieber was 14 of 28 for 126 yards for the Oilers (2-8, 2-8).

KALAMAZOO 24, ADRIAN 10

ADRIAN, Mich. - Freshman Dwight White ran for 138 yards and three touchdowns for Kalamazoo.

Quarterback Brad Maska went 20-for-41 for 213 yards to lead Adrian (2-8, 1-4 Michigan Intercollegiate).

GRAND VALLEY STATE 31, HILLSDALE 29

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Curt Anes threw for 324 yards and Kevin Sonntag kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired for Grand Valley State.

DENISON 14, OBERLIN 6

GRANVILLE, O. - Quarterback Greg Neuendorf (Southview) had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs as Denison (2-8, 2-5) handed the Yeomen their 39th consecutive loss.
