Killian big off bench for ONU

ADA - Mark Killian came off the bench to score 25 points in 18 minutes on 11 of 15 shooting to lead Ohio Northern to a 129-97 win over Marietta yesterday.

Greg Badenhop scored 22, Phil Hoying added 18 and Kyle Gehle was the only Ohio Northern (5-2, 2-0 Ohio Conference) starter to score in double digits, with 10.

The Polar Bears never trailed, and led 78-53 at halftime.

FINDLAY 72, MERCYHURST 51

FINDLAY - Chris Commons scored 15 points and Findlay outscored Mercyhurst in the first half and went on to win.

The Oilers (6-1, 3-9 Great Lakes Conference) hit 59 percent of their shots in the first half to 50 percent for Mercyhurst (3-5, 0-3), but made seven more baskets and outscored Mercyhurst at the foul line 7-3.

Andy Kubinski led Mercyhurst with 16 points and Terry Smith added 13 points.

Adam Sommer was the only other Findlay player in double figures, scoring 11 points.

WILMINGTON, OHIO 75, HEIDELBERG 73

TIFFIN - Deon Short had 20 points and Zach Broermann made a game-winning 3-pointer with one second left in Wilmington's victory over Heidelberg.

David Guy also had 14 points for the Quakers (4-4, 2-1 Ohio Conference), who forced 20 turnovers. Eric Stirling finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Kenny Gilbert led Heidelberg (3-5, 1-2) with 16 points while Rod Higgins had 13 points and seven rebounds.

NORTH CENTRAL 77, ADRIAN 62

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Mike Wilson had 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds and North Central shot 58.5 percent from the field in a win over Adrian.

HILLSDALE 67, WAYNE, MICH. 58

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Tim Homan scored 25 points and Cory Coe added 16 in Hillsdale's victory over Wayne State.

WOMEN

OWENS 80, GLEN OAKS 60

Niccole Brown contributed 22 points and 16 rebounds as Owens knocked off Glen Oaks (No. 16 NJCAA) yesterday. She was 8 of 8 from the free throw line as Owens made 28 of 38 attempts to Glen Oaks' 7-of-12.

Katie McClure scored 16 for the Express, with Misti Horton adding 12 and Sarah Johnson 11.
