Adrian College to offer men’s, women’s wrestling
7/10/2014ADRIAN — Adrian College will offer men’s and women’s wrestling teams beginning in the 2015-16 school year.
“Adrian College has a strong tradition in collegiate wrestling and now is the right time to reintroduce the sport on campus,” Adrian athletic director Michael Duffy said.
From 1969-84, Adrian College had a men’s wrestling program that produced three Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Association championships under former coach Paul McDonald. A search has begun for a coach.
“Women’s wrestling is rapidly growing across the nation on the youth and high school levels, and there are still limited opportunities for competing at the college level,” Duffy said.
