On second try, recruit Jackson chooses Buckeyes

Four-star junior college defensive tackle picks Ohio State

COLUMBUS — Ohio State missed on Antwuan Jackson the first time around, but Jackson is on track to be a Buckeye after all.

The four-star junior college defensive tackle became the 18th member of the Buckeyes 2017 class when he committed to OSU against offers from Alabama and South Carolina.

The Buckeyes chased Jackson as a high school player, but he chose Auburn and enrolled there in the class of 2016. After redshirting his first year, he transferred to Blinn (Texas) College, where he is playing this season.

247Sports rates Jackson as the second-best junior college defensive tackle.

He will join current Buckeyes cornerback Kendall Sheffield, who also went to Blinn and chose the Buckeyes during his second recruitment.

Ohio State remains the No. 1 overall class, according to 247’s composite rankings.

A program is allowed to take up to 25 players per class. The Buckeyes signed 21 players in their 2017 class.
