University of Toledo coach Jason Candle confirmed today that senior wide receiver Cody Thompson suffered a broken leg in the Eastern Michigan game on Saturday and will be out for the rest of the season.

Thompson went down with the injury on Toledo’s first drive of the game on Saturday when he was dragged down after a 35-yard gain.

Thompson, a Huron, Ohio, native, was the leading receiver this season for the Rockets with 28 catches for 536 yards and four touchdowns.

“It’s a big loss for our football team,” Candle said after the Eastern Michigan game. “Cody is a warrior and he has meant a lot to this football program. He’s a guy that has done everything right.”
