Michigan signs one of nation's top men's hoops recruiting classes

Michigan coach John Beilein signed the nation's sixth-ranked recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
ANN ARBOR — Pardon the interruption. Yes, it’s football season, but the Michigan basketball team made headlines Wednesday.
John Beilein is in the midst of signing one of the top recruiting classes in the country, inking four-star forwards Ignas Brazdeikis (Ontario, Canada) and Colin Castleton (Daytona Beach, Fla.), and three-star guards David DeJulius (Detroit) and Adrien Nunez (Oakdale, Conn.) on the first day of the early signing period Wednesday.
Brandon Johns (East Lansing, Mich.), a four-star forward, is expected to sign Friday at a ceremony at his high school.
The Wolverines’ five-man class is ranked sixth nationally by 247sports. Brazdeikis is the highest-rated at No. 42 overall. Johns is ranked second in the state of Michigan. All five players are in the top 300 overall and no one is ranked lower than 12th in their home state.
Wednesday was the first day of the early-signing period, which runs until Nov. 15.
This is Michigan’s highest-rated recruiting class since 2012, a three-man group that featured Derrick Walton Jr., Zak Irvin, and Mark Donnal, an Anthony Wayne graduate. They were ranked No. 3.
