    Running back Bryant Koback is eligible to play this season for Toledo after receiving waiver from NCAA.

  • The NCAA deemed University of Toledo running back Bryant Koback eligible to play this season for the Rockets on Monday.

    Koback, who played at Springfield High School, announced in January he was transferring to Toledo from Kentucky. He redshirted his freshman season for the Wildcats last year after suffering a serious leg injury his senior season of high school.

    After transferring from Kentucky, Koback petitioned the NCAA for immediate eligibility at Toledo.

    Koback will join a talented backfield for the Rockets with Shakif Seymour and Art Thompkins returning. 

    Koback was with the team for spring practices and had a good showing in the spring game with 45 rushing yards on eight carries.

    At Springfield, Koback rushed for 2,015 yards and 31 touchdowns on 194 carries as a junior in 2015. That season, he was named first-team All-Ohio in Division II.

    His senior year in 2016, he was off to another monster season before he suffered a broken leg. In four games, he recorded 1,096 yards rushing and 21 total touchdowns on 93 carries.

    He was a three-star recruit coming out of high school according to 247Sports.com
