Toledo man charged in Defiance shooting death
4/16/2011DEFIANCE — A Toledo man is charged in the Feb. 20 shooting death of a 33-year-old man found dead in his car in Defiance.
Donny L. Berry, 27, of 5953 Walnut Circle was indicted this week by a special Defiance County grand jury on charges of aggravated murder, involuntary manslaughter, conspiracy to commit trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to commit trafficking in marijuana, two counts of tampering with evidence, attempted aggravated robbery, and attempted burglary.
The charges stem from the slaying of Kerry Christopher, whom police found dead in his car in the 500 block of Degler Street after a report his car was parked in the area.
Mr. Berry, arrested in Toledo Thursday, is to be arraigned Wednesday in Defiance County Common Pleas Court. He is held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio near Stryker.
