A Toledo man charged with intentionally hitting and dragging another man 63 feet with a minivan appeared in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Wednesday for a second court appearance.

Geoffrey Dupuis, 47, of 3335 West Laskey Rd. is charged with murder stemming from the death of Randall York, 55, of West Toledo. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

At the defense’s request, Judge Gary Cook set an Aug. 17 court date. The judge denied changing Mr. Dupuis’ $150,000 bond.

Authorities say Mr. York was hit June 11 after trying to stop the suspect and his son from fleeing a gas station parking lot at Secor and Laskey roads after an alleged crime.
