Toledo couple enters not-guilty pleas to child endangering

    A Toledo couple charged with failing to protect their 17-year-old adopted daughter who has cerebral palsy pleaded not guilty to child endangering charges Tuesday.

    Lee Anne Henry, 57, of 3001 Brock Drive is charged with two counts of child endangering, including one involving accusations of “torture or cruelly abusing the child.” If convicted of the higher felony, she faces up to eight years in prison.

    Christopher Henry, 58, of the same address, is charged with one count of child endangering and is alleged to have failed in his duty to protect the child. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.

    Judge Myron Duhart released the couple on monitored recognizance bonds and set an Oct. 18 pretrial.

    The Henrys were indicted last week after an investigation by Toledo police. The couple has been long time foster parents and has adopted several children, including those with special needs.

    According to a May 17 Toledo police report filed after officials at the school the teen attends filed a complaint, the victim had been seen with “unexplained bruises” and had reported that she is “verbally abused at home.”
