TIFFIN -- A Fostoria woman was sentenced Thursday to 14 years in prison for her role in abusing a 22-month-old child in her care.
Tellina Tenney, 25, had pleaded guilty in April in Seneca County Common Pleas Court to two counts of child endangering for injuries caused to a child in her home at Pelton's Trailer Park near Fostoria. The toddler suffered a first-degree burn, significant bruising to the face, arms, torso, and legs, and other injuries.
Seneca County Prosecutor Derek DeVine said the long-term effects of the abuse are "not completely understood" at this time, but it is believed the child's development may be impacted.
Tenney's sentence, handed down by Common Pleas Judge Steve Shuff, was two years shy of the maximum for her conviction.
