FEDERAL COURT

Bowling Green man’s sentencing set in child porn case

3/21/2013

A Bowling Green man is to be sentenced June 6 in U.S. District Court in Toledo on multiple child-pornography counts.

Phillip S. Butler, 34, pleaded guilty last month before Judge Jack Zouhary to three counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count each of distribution of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of child pornography.

After Butler’s indictment in September, federal investigators said they had seized computers, hard drives, and storage devices containing thousands of images of male child pornography from both Butler’s Bowling Green home and his parents’ home in Van Wert, Ohio.
