A Toledo woman who shook her 3-month-old son and threw him into his crib, fracturing his skull, pleaded no contest Tuesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Brook Ennis, 20, of 2251 Airline Ave. was found guilty of attempted endangering children by Judge James Bates. She faces six to 18 months in prison when she is sentenced May 7.

Louis Kountouris, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, told the court Ennis brought her baby to the Toledo Hospital emergency room Nov. 27, saying he was not acting right. Medical personnel determined the baby had suffered a skull fracture and other injuries.

Mr. Kountouris said several days later, Ennis admitted to Toledo police that she had become frustrated with the baby crying “so she shook him and threw him into the bed.”
