Woman who set fire released from prison

BOWLING GREEN — A woman who set fire to a Perrysburg apartment complex has been released from prison after serving one year of a four-year sentence.

Chelsie Smothers, 21, was given judicial release on Monday when she appeared before Wood County Common Pleas Judge Reeve Kelsey.

Smothers was placed on community control for five years and ordered to undergo mental health counseling, provide 400 hours of community service, and pay nearly $40,000 in restitution for damage caused by the Feb. 16, 2011, fire at Perry Lake Village.
