Businessman arraigned over film of girl at salon
4/11/2013More than four months after a former local salon owner was indicted on charges he filmed a teenaged girl undressing while using a tanning booth, he was arraigned Wednesday before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Linda Jennings.
Matthew Gonzalez, 49, of 1337 Cromly Ct., Maumee entered not guilty pleas to all the charges — six counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and one count each of tampering with evidence and obstructing official business — which were filed in three separate indictments.
Judge Jennings set a trial date of June 3 for Mr. Gonzalez, owner of the former Matthew Vincente Salon on Garden Road.
Lucas County Auditor’s records show the salon was sold Jan. 16 for $231,000 to Shear Design Studio LLC. It is now operating as Shear Design Salon and Spa.
On Monday, the Federal National Mortgage Association foreclosed on Mr. Gonzalez’ Cromly Court home.
The complaint alleges Mr. Gonzalez and Jodi Gonzalez owe the bank $191,958. Mr. Gonzalez remains in custody in the Lucas County jail.
