4/16/2013

Elected officials said they will gather at 3 p.m. today in the lobby of One Government Center to ask that a special domestic violence docket be established in Toledo Municipal Court.

Council members Shaun Enright and Lindsay Webb and Municipal Court Judge Michelle Wagner will announce the initiative.

Last year, 1,721 domestic violence cases were filed in Toledo Municipal Court, according to court records. Of the cases that were resolved in 2012, 42 percent resulted in convictions and 58 percent were dismissed.
