Orthodontist is indicted

A Toledo orthodontist has been indicted in U.S. District Court on 14 counts of failure to collect and pay more than $187,000 in federal income taxes withheld from his employees’ wages.

Stuart Duchon, 65, owned and operated orthodontic practices known as Duchon Orthodontics-Toledo Inc., and Stuart L. Duchon DDS MS Inc.

According to the indictment, between 2007 and 2011, he allegedly failed to collect and pay to the Internal Revenue Service his employees’ portion of Medicare and Social Security taxes as well as the federal income taxes withheld from their paychecks.

The case was investigated by the IRS.
