BOWLING GREEN — A Bowling Green man who struck a bicyclist while driving drunk was sentenced Friday to four years in prison.

Wood County Common Pleas Judge Alan Mayberry also suspended the driver’s license of Jerry Eschedor, Jr., 44, for three years.

On Feb. 22, Eschedor pleaded no contest and was found guilty of aggravated vehicular assault, operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and failure to stop. The charges are connected to an Aug. 26 incident in which Caleb J. Roberts, 19, of Bowling Green was struck while riding his bike in the 800 block of 4th Street.

Judge Mayberry also placed Eschedor on community control for five years after his prison sentence for an unrelated conviction for illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.
