FREMONT — An 84-year-old Texas man convicted of trafficking in cocaine was sent to prison for four years Tuesday.

Daniel Gonzalez of Brownsville pleaded guilty before Judge John Dewey of Sandusky County Common Pleas Court. A bill of information charged him with trafficking in cocaine and possession of criminal tools.

Investigators said that in 2007, Gonzalez delivered more than 37 pounds of cocaine, packaged and stored in a car tire, to an undercover agent in Sandusky County. Gonzalez dropped off the car, then picked it up after the drugs had been replaced with money.
