A former nurse’s aide who struck a patient with mental health problems at a local nursing home has been placed on community control for two years in Lucas County Common Pleas Court. Tacarra Bryson, 31, of 10 Southard Ave. was found guilty of patient abuse April 12 after a jury trial. She punched a patient in the head while the patient was being restrained on the floor at Liberty West Nursing Center, 2051 Collingwood Blvd.

Judge Gary Cook on Wednesday ordered Bryson to complete anger management counseling, participate in the victim awareness program, and have no contact with the victim. Bryson, whose State Tested Nursing Assistant license was revoked, was told she could perform community service in lieu of paying court costs.
