Accomplice in bank holdup gets community control

An accomplice in a Jan. 2 holdup at the downtown Huntington Bank was placed on community control for three years Friday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Stacy Cook also ordered Anthony Rayford, 47, of 624 Elm St. to spend 90 days on electronic monitoring.

Rayford was found guilty last month of conspiracy to commit robbery.

His co-defendant, Oscar Banks, 47, of 828 Magnolia St. was sentenced in April to 11 years in prison for three counts of robbery for the Jan. 2 holdup as well as a Dec. 4 robbery at the same bank and a Jan. 3 holdup at the PNC Bank downtown.
